Q. What is your opinion and overall assessment of Windows Vista?
A. This is the number one question as of late. I have read a bit about Vista and has some limited exposure to the Vista nuances. Some users like Vista while others despise Vista. My question to you the consumer is not necessarily a rub on Vista but more of a practical question. If you were using a Windows Operating System previously or presently and it was working to your satisfaction ask yourself why you would want to change… If you are honest with yourself you are changing because it’s the latest and greatest not necessarily because it will improve your life. If you are up for a challenge and have lots of time on your hands then I say upgrade.
Q. Chris, you installed AVG antivirus when my computer was in for debugging. It is working fine. One question. It used to be that when the scan was running, an mulicoloured icon (same as the AVG icon) appeared in the tray to:
(a) let you know a scan was in progress and
(b) allow you to pause the scan if you were in the midst of something else.
Just recently that icon no longer appears so i am unable to pause the scans which run about 45 minutes. How can I get that missing icon back?
A. Okay from what I can tell it would appear that in the bottom right corner of your task bar (system tray) there are only a few available icons showing.
What I mean is if you look you will see a white arrow very near or beside the AVG icon. That white arrow when clicked allows you to see other programs which are running but hidden. Only so many icons can appear on the task bar simultaneously. Click that white arrow and you will see them all.
